The Wilderness Centre
is a country estate nestled within 30 acres of private grounds in the Forest of Dean, with ancient woodland, wildflower meadows and gardens. We enjoy commanding spectacular views over the River Severn to the Cotswolds and the Malvern Hills over 20 miles away.

It has achieved the highest accolade of Gold Standard Centre by the ‘Association of Heads of Outdoors Education Centres’. Our qualified team share their knowledge and invite the young people to explore, learn and connect with nature, within the greatest classroom, the great outdoors.

The house and grounds are ideal for business events such as away days, team development and leadership programmes. The Wilderness is a place to think differently, to build confidence and clarity while connecting with colleagues.
Private hire
We offer exclusive use weekend hire of the house so that large groups of guests can enjoy life in a historic country house, relax and explore their own 30 acres of grounds. In 2019 we unveiled our fabulous Bell Tent Village which is located in the original old walled orchard. The Wilderness Centre really is the perfect venue for friends and family.
